Hi folks,

How do you keep track of when changes have been made to this site or other blogs etc?

Bloglines is the answer. It is a program that you download and install on your computer that places an icon in your Windows tray that changes when updates are made to the blog. Please note: You must be connected to the internet for it to detect changes for you.

How?
Go to this website http://www.bloglines.com/ and click on "Sign up now" in the middle of the page.
You then need to enter your email address and a password to create an account.
Also change your time zone and language if necessary.
Click on "Register".

Once you have an account, you need to download the notifier for your computer. Click this link to download it http://www.bloglines.com/about/notifier.

Once you have installed the program, sign into your account.
Click on the "My Feeds" tab.
Click on the "Add" link.
Here you just type in the URL of the site you wish to monitor EG: http://tasedge.blogspot.com/
Click "Subscribe".
It will then ask which feed to monitor. Tick the second one. The address ends in "rss.xml"
Scroll down to the bottom and click "Subscribe".
The blog name will now show up in the left hand panel.
You can do the same for other members blogs if you wish.

NOTE: If the icon in your tray has an exclamation mark on it and says "User ID is empty", Right click on the icon, select "Settings" and in the first field "User email", put your email address and click "OK". This should fix this problem.

Thanks to Danielle from Parramatta LearnScopers for this 'how to'
cheers
Frankie

Be Notified of Updates - Bloglines
Hi ParraScopers,Instead of receiving numerous amounts of emails from us regarding tasks and updates, we will be posting them to this blog. HOWEVER, how are you to know when we have posted? Bloglines is the answer. It is a program that you download and install on your computer that places an icon in your Windows tray that changes when updates are made to the blog. Please note: You must be connected to the internet for it to detect changes for you.

Here you just type in the URL of the site you wish to monitor EG: http://www.parralearnscope.blogspot.com/

Thank you Maria for reporting this error to me.
So now every time you are connected to the internet, it will search the blog for any changes and notify you by changing the icon in your tray.
